OCCUPANCY

Occupancy means the total number of people
staying in the hotel. |

Room Occupancy Types

 |
Single: One person staying in the room. |
 |
 |
Double: Two persons staying in the
same room, which can again be of two types that
is two separate people or a couple. When a couple
stays in a room it is termed as double occupancy
for which a king size bed is required and when
two separate people stay it is termed as twin
occupancy for which there is two separate beds
in the same room. |

Triple: is primarily three people sharing
a room at an extra cost. |
 |
 |
Extra Bed: When required for a child
on request is provided at a special rate. |

DIFFERENT
PLANS ON WHICH A HOTEL ROOM CAN BE BOOKED :- |

A room in a hotel can be booked on room only
basis or it can be coupled with the meals. This
is referred to as Plan. There are four different
types of plans which are as follows: |

EP (European Plan): Room only basis
that is, the rate quoted would include the stay
in the room only and all other facilities would
be charged separately. |

 |
CP (Continental Plan): Room with breakfast,
means the rate quoted would include both the elements.
Also at times referred as an Bed & Breakfast
Plan. |

 |
MAP (Modified American Plan): Room with
breakfast & one major meal that is either
Lunch or Dinner. Also at times referred as an
Half-Board Basis. |

 |
AP (American Plan): Room with breakfast
& both major meals that is Lunch & Dinner.
Also at times referred as an Full-Board Basis. |

TAXES

Generally the tax element is charged separately
over and above the Room Rate. But when the rates
of the room include taxes then it is referred
to as AI (All Inclusive). |

If a room is booked on Bed & Breakfast
basis plus Taxes this will be referred as
CPAI (Continental Plan All Inclusive).

If a room is booked on, Bed & Breakfast
+ All Meals + Taxes it is referred as APAI
(American Plan All Inclusive). |
